INITIATIVE LANDS A MAJOR NEW CLIENT
The
Media Diversity Initiative, a service of Chriesman & Associates, is proud to announce Hearst-Argyle
Television has agreed to become a charter client.
Hearst-Argyle
is one of the nation’s largest television
station groups, owning 24 stations and managing three
more stations across the country which reach more than
17% of the nation’s television audience.
“We
are thrilled to have such a prestigious group of
stations as those owned by Hearst-Argyle to be among the first clients of the Media
Diversity Initiative,” said MDI
principal Willie Chriesman.
“These are good stations run by good people
and we’re excited to have the opportunity to work
with them in trying to bring greater diversity to the
nation’s newsrooms.”
The
Media Diversity Initiative is a bold and innovative new effort to
address the troubling lack of diversity among managers
and supervisors in the nation’s broadcast newsrooms.
It plans to be available officially to clients
such as individual stations or station groups late
this summer.
